If you are committed to preventing Stephen Harper and the Conservative party from winning as many seats as possible in the upcoming election, it may be necessary for you to vote for the NDP, the Green party, or the Bloc Québecois, depending on your riding. These three parties have so much more in common with the Liberal platform than do the Conservatives. If you live in a battleground riding where the Liberal party isn't the strongest contender to beat the Conservatives, I hope you will consider this. We need to be strategic!
By visiting one of the 'vote swapping' sites or facebook groups listed in the 'Vote Swapping Links' section, you may be able to find someone in another riding who is willing to vote Liberal for you so the party can still benefit from the funding they would earn from your vote.
If you are unsure about doing this, ask yourself the following question:
What is worse, voting for a party other than the Liberals, or having Stephen Harper as your Prime Minister, possibly with a majority?

Jack Layton is clearly a decent guy with great values, but there's no way he's going to win enough seats this election to become Prime Minister. I appreciate that he has to lead his party and do the best job he can to secure the most votes, but with Stephen Harper ahead in the polls and thirsting for a majority, there is a lot at stake here. We have to be strategic.

The Green party is in a very exciting phase of it's growth. Elizabeth May is enjoying a high amount of popularity among Canadians as they get to know her and see her for the intelligent, passionate and caring Canadian that she is. I sincerely hope the Green party can elect multiple MPs in this election - the country will be much better for it. However, there are many ridings where for now, the Green Party is not a threat to win. We must be strategic if we are to defeat Stephen Harper.
